*GIVE-AWAY ALERT* Share the Joy – It’s time to CELEBRATE!

So this year, I was selected to be on the La Senza Insider’s panel which basically means I complete survey’s and projects throughout the year in return for a ton of free goodies to make my lingerie stash that much bigger lol ❤

The last assignment we received was to reflect on our summer and submit 10 pictures on our most memorable moments or highlight how we spent our summers. At first thought I was like “oh great *sarcastically* all I’ve been doing this summer is working nonnnnn-stoppp!” Then, I started jotting things down…

Usually I spend my summers at the cottage and the beach, skipping work and giving up all life’s responsibilities lol good freakin times! This year it was a bit more grown up but I felt more accomplished than I ever had before. I feel like I finally have perfect balance and grew into the person I was meant to be ❤

I got engaged to a man so amazing I couldn’t even have ever dreamt it (and that’s saying a lot from this fairytale filled heart!), coordinated the biggest shoot of my career with 8 vendors on board, won the Wedding Industry Experts award for Best Makeup Artist, TV interview with RogersOne Central, The DMG Team was booked solid every single weekend and long weekend with a 4-9 bridal bookings each weekend, modeled in my first solo music video, acted in a short film by Shutter Images, still managed to spend some time at the beach, explore the underground streets downtown Toronto making the most of my fiancées rainy birthday, caught the bouquet at my friend’s wedding, went to my first concert (Bruno Mars is amazing , for real), zip-lined down Blue Mountain and had my first surprise birthday party ever ❤

Sooooo since I’m soooo happy – I want to share the joy and make you all happy toooo! 🙂

Behind the Scenes: Avex Studioz & Pendu Jatt Featuring Me! Xox

I’ve said it time and time again: I love working with Avex Studioz/Shutter Imagez cause there’s always something new and exciting – plus they’re just kickass people with a whirlpool of talent and ideas 😉

A couple weeks ago we had another shoot with Avex Studioz but this time with a little twist… This time Gurpreet wanted me to play the lead girl 😮 😀

I was super excited because this was one of the last few things left on my life’s “to-do” list, I’d been working out really hard for the past few months and was happy with the progress that I’ve made so far, I even flew to Calgary to do a video late December 2012 but while I was there decided it wasn’t right for me and flew home (something’s just are not worth it).

At the same time I was EXTREAMLY nervous because I didn’t want to disappoint anyone – especially Gurpreet who would have a nightmare going through and editing if it wasn’t all that wonderful, I was afraid of looking like a cow or just not pretty once the video was completed and I didn’t want to look awkward in terms of my “acting” skills lol. We had done a couple short step-in rolls before and I remembered how awkward it felt and how many times we had to reshoot things for other videos :$

So excited and nervous…. I was just trying to keep my cool throughout and just not thing about it all lol :$

At first, I wasn’t sure if having my boyfriend there was going to make me more nervous or be helpful but it was definitely the smartest move (thaaaaannnkkkk you jaan <3)! Majority of the shots were of me on the phone and it was sometimes hard to keep a genuine smile and seem flattered throughout the whole shoot so he was actually on the phone talking to me, being sweet and I just had to listen and react :$ :$

Cutest thing ever, he’s absolutely amazing ❤ It made being on set so much easier, funner and smoother than I could have ever imagined.

I honestly have a new profound respect for actors! How they do the scenes they do so well and intense with camera’s in their face is beyond me… that takes some serious talent & focus!

Behind the Scenes: Avex Studios, Shutter Images, DMG and Romie Gill

If there’s one team that always seems to impress me, it’s got to be Avex Productions and Shutter Images. From Commercials to Wedding Highlights to Music Videos… they always go above and beyond any expectations that I have.

It doesn’t matter if it’s 30*C on set or -10*C… it’s always such a blast working with Gurpreet, Taran and the talent that the weather is the last thing on our mind (and when it is – you’ll find me doing laps around the set to keep warm LOL).

Last time on set I had the opportunity to meet upcoming talent Romie Gill and let me just say, I fell in love with the track right away. Not only does Romie have an amazing voice live, he wrote the track himself and is so down to earth (you should have seen how shy he was in front of the camera! haha). Can’t wait to see what else he has in store for us 🙂 (video at the end of this post)

Not only was I hair and makeup for Day Two, I also had the opportunity to try my hand at some basic photo & video with onsite training from Gurpreet lol. Hey, some of them actually came out pretty alright 😉
